Crowder District Park

Environmental education programs are available to the public and to organized groups on a wide range of nature topics and environmental issues. Favorite programs include Pond Study, Build a Beaver, Snakes, Water Quality, Birds, Insects, Frogs and Toads, Magic Soil Bag, Habitat Hike, ABC Hike and others. The staff at Crowder will create a program to meet your educational needs. A 2.7 acre pond with a boardwalk, an observation deck, and a newly created stormwater wetland area, paved walking trails, 3 playgrounds, 3 picnic shelters, ball field, sand volleyball, and an amphitheater are available at Crowder District Park.

Mission
To help Wake County citizens appreciate and understand their connection with and responsibility towards local ecosystems, and to serve as a model of daily actions that support the well-being of the environment.

Cost of Programs/Admission
Admission to the park is free. Special events are held each year. Costs vary for public environmental education programs. Group program fees are $25.00/hour/staff for onsite programs and $30.00/hour/staff for outreach. Reservations are required for all scheduled public programs and group programs. Shelters can be reserved for a fee depending on the shelter size. Park rules and additional information are on the web site.

Features
Located on 33-acres of gently rolling wooded land, Crowder features a 2.7 acre pond for wildlife observation.

Accessibility
The Office, Shelters, and Restrooms are all accessible. The Perimeter Trail and Pond Trail are paved and accessible
