West Point on the Eno Park

We provide programs for public school groups through the non-profit, School House of Wonder, we have weekend, city run public programs, and there are contractor led programs at the park. There are also historic buildings with tourguides that are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5pm. We also enjoy the natural resources provided by the Eno River.

Eagle Trail is 1.8 miles, moderate, packed dirt surface, not accessible.
Sennett Hole Trail is .15 miles, easy, packed dirt surface, not accessible.
South River Trail is .52 miles, moderate, packed dirt surface, not accessible.
Buffalo Trail is .40 miles, moderate, packed dirt surface, not accessible.
Buffalo Spur is .17 miles, moderate, packed dirt surface, not accessible.
Laural Cliffs Trail is .25 miles, moderate, packed dirt surface, not accessible.
Other Exercise Opportunities
Canoe put in and take out above the dam.

Hours of Operation
Park is open 7 days a week from 8am-sunset.
Historic buildings are open 1-5pm Saturday and Sunday March through December

Directions
From interstate 85 in Durham take Duke Street. Follow for approximately 3.5 miles until you come to Seven Oaks Rd. At that light take a left and that is the entrance to the park.

Mission
To provide the citizens of Durham the oportunity to explore the rich historic and ecological amenities present in the area surrounding West Point Mill.

Features
The heart of our 400 acre park is the Eno River. Along the river is the West Point Mill. Up the hill from the historic mill is the McCown Mangum House, a photo museum, and other historic buildings. There are also two picnic shelters at the park along with several miles of hiking trails.

Accessibility
All of the buildings have ramps or ground level entrances. The trails are dirt or gravel.
