Clark Park Nature Center

HealthEE Center

Clark Park includes a nature center and three wooded, walking trails. The nature center houses small, live animals and exhibits related to nature and the trails allow for viewing the Cape Fear River, wildlife, wildflowers, wetlands, and a covered bridge. Clark Park is one of the trail heads to the 4.2 mile paved, linear Cape Fear River Trail that parallels the Cape Fear River. Golf cart tours of the Cape Fear River Trail are available for senior citizens and person with limited physical abilities. A primitive campground is available for tent camping on a reservation basis.

The park's 72 acres are located on the banks of the Cape Fear River and are mostly covered in a mixed pine/hardwood forest. There is a 35 foot waterfall which is reputedly the tallest waterfall on the Coastal Plain of North Carolina. There are deep ravines carved out by streams flowing to the River.
