Fayetteville Clark Park Nature Center

Clark Park includes a nature center and three wooded, walking trails. The nature center houses small, live animals and exhibits related to nature and the trails allow for viewing the Cape Fear River, wildlife, wildflowers, wetlands, and a covered bridge. Clark Park is one of the trail heads to the 4.2 mile paved, linear Cape Fear River Trail that parallels the Cape Fear River. Golf cart tours of the Cape Fear River Trail are available for senior citizens and person with limited physical abilities. A primitive campground is available for tent camping on a reservation basis.  (more details)

Public Works Commission Watershed Education Center and Watershed Management Programs Fayetteville
The Watershed Management Programs office is located on the site of an operating water treatment facility, and is adjacent to a lake and wooded areas. Land management and water quality activities are performed on approximately 2400 acres of natural wooded areas perserved as a buffer for a water supply watershed. This 2400 acres consists of four lakes and an ecosystem unique to the sandhills of North Carolina. Educational opportunities consists of guided tours and outdoor classroom activities. Volunteers are also welcome to assist in special land management activities.
Mazarick Park Fayetteville
Milton E. Mazarick Park contains 80 acres and a variety of activities for patrons. From the fishing at Glenville Lake, to walking, to disc golf and picnics, this park meets many recreational needs.

Free admission. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. -5 p.m. A state of the art visitor center is currently under construction. The center will comprise a 4,800-square-foot building with a classroom and exhibit hall, a handicapped-accessible fishing structure and deck near the water and an educational pavilion.
