Arboretum at Johnston Community College


Program Information
The Arboretum offers a variety of educational programs for the public including several children's programs. The offerings change annually but include gardening, self-reliance and sustainability workshops and lectures, annual Plant Sale and Festival, and more. We have walking trails and public plantings. Mission
The mission of the Arboretum at Johnston Community College is to promote prudent and responsible use of cultivated plants and to promote the conservation of native species through the acquisition, evaluation and aesthetic display of selected plant materials in an educational environment for students, visitors, the green industry and local citizens.

Cost of Programs/Admission
Grounds, woodland trail, and completed gardens are open to the public. Lectures and workshops are offered are open to the public. Some events require fees.

Features
The Arboretum is still under construction. Plans include a perennial garden, courtyard garden, global garden, children's garden, southern garden, wildlife habitat and woodland trail, and various theme gardens

Accessibility
Gardens are under construction. Some areas are wheelchair accessible depending on weather conditions. Woodland trails are open as are the Kitchen, Azalea and Perennial Gardens.
